Hammer Bar Chocolate Chip

Hammer Bar in the Chocolate Chip flavor saved my bacon during the Surf Coast Century

When nothing was sitting well in my gut due to the heat or runners gut I could still stomach the Hammer Bar Chocolate Chip. It also saved me while running Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney when I was feeling dizzy after 80ks. Hammer bar Chocolate Chip went down like a dream. I am now lucky enough to be sponsored by Hammer Nutrition. Thank you Hammer.
What I love about Hammer Bar’s is that they really yummy. They are made from all natural certified organic food sources.

The Hammer Bar Chocolate Chip is made up with the following ingredient;

Organic Almond Butter,Organic Date Paste, Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Dark Chocolate Chips-Non Dairy, (Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Chocolate Liquor, Organic Cocoa Butter, non-GMO Soy Lecithin, Organic Vanilla Extract).Organic Brown Rice Protein, Organic Bio Sprouts-Flax, Organic Bio Sprouts-Quinoa, Organic Raisins, Organic Sesame Seeds.
They are gluten free, with no additives, no refines sugars or preservatives. They are also 100% Vegetarian.
Hammer Bar Chocolate Chip flavor taste great. I can usually stomach them at any stage of the event. Hammer Bar is not sickly sweet. They are very palatable.
The Hammer Bar Chocolate Chip has 220 calories in one bar. Including 9g of fat, 9g of Protein, Fibre 5g and 26g of Carbs. I usually cut them into 2 portions and wrap them in foil for my drop bags.
I like to have a few slow burning fuels handy on a run to keep my sugar levels nice and even throughout the longer events like my recent wins and record breaking appearances in Oxfam Trail Walker Sydney 2012, Surf Coast Century (SCC) 2012 and Great Ocean Walk (GOW) 2012.
I especially like the Hammer Bar because it contains 9g of protein to help rebuild my muscles during and post exercise. (Hammer Recoverite is a better post exercise food than the Hammer Bar when consumed within 40 minutes of exercise). Hammer bars are great to have around when you are racing just to help with fueling and recovering especially when you are traveling interstate for events and you are away from your trusted food supplies.
They also have 18mg of Sodium, and provide 11% Iron, 7% Vitamin A, 1% Vitamin C, 7% Calcium of your daily vitamin and mineral needs.
At times they can get a bit dry in your mouth. This would happen late in the race if you are low on hydration. If this happens, just run along and take small tiny bites at a time while sipping small amounts of hydration fluid.
I like to eat the Hammer Bar Choc Chip before an event as a fuel, about an hour after breaky, up to an hour before an event as well after the event to help with recovery. I even ate one late at night when I was hungry before GOW. Hammer Bar Chocolate Chip is a really great all round organic, natural, energy bar that taste great. I love them.
