Hares and Hounds Ultra Hares and Hounds Ultra, Ouch! Man this race hurt. It was the first race of the South East Queensland Calendar and my first race after the off-season and only just over 1 week after New Years Eve. This event was never going to be an easy ultra. The Hares and Hounds Ultra and Relay chase was meant to be a bit of good old hunting fun. Shona: You have a few memorable wins under your belt – what was the hardest (and why) and do you have a favourite win? Whitney Dagg: My recent win at the Surf Coast Century was by far the toughest. Mainly because it was 100km but also because I got a sore IT band at half way and had to run with the pain in the side of my knee for 50km. Pain relief helped but it required mental toughness.
